Anatomy - The Clitoris, Vulva, Vagina, Labia, and G spot!

Hey there Beautiful! So you’ve had gyno appointments, exams, maybe some tests, and of course those pap smears, but have you gotten a chance to really know what’s what and why they’re there? From the majestic clitoris to the mysterious G-spot! We’re talking vulva. We’re talking vagina. We’re talking labia! Let’s get started!

Her majesty, The Clitoris

Ah, the clitoris – that delightful seemingly tiny bump nestled at the top of your vulva. It’s more common to have an orgasm from your clitoris than from penetration alone! So, your clitoris is the Beyoncé of your nether regions, commanding attention and leaving you feeling like a queen. With over 8,000 nerve endings, making it the ultimate nerve-rich hotspot. It wasn't until 2005 that the full anatomy of the clitoris was researched and found to be much bigger than the little nub we can feel externally. One of the best ways to stimulate the external portion of the cliteris is by rubbing with the fingers, palm, or tongue in a circular or back and forth motion. The majority of your clitoris is actually internal though, which is why we can stimulate the clitoris from inside your vaginal wall from vaginal penetration with a penis, fingers, or a sex toy. Bow for the queen!

The Vulva

Welcome to your vulva – the gateway to your wonderland! It's like the velvet rope at the entrance of an exclusive club, except way more magical. Whether you're rockin' the "innie" or the "outie" style, your vulva is everything that you see on the outside (Including your labia, clitoris, urethra, and vaginal opening), and it deserves to be treated like royalty. This will be the last stop for your baby! Embrace its beauty in all shapes and sizes! Don’t forget to give your vulva some TLC with gentle care and affirmation - it goes through a lot!

The Vagina

Ah, the vagina – You can see the opening when looking at your vulva with a mirror. This is the muscular canal that connects your cervix and uterus. You heard that right! Your vagina is muscular - strong as heck which expands both for sex and when your baby gets ready to make their grand entrance into the world! But hey, it's not just for baby-making – it's also your own personal pleasure playground! So grab your mirror and take a look down there – it's your canvas!

The Labia

Let's talk about the labia – the frilly curtains that frame the stage. And just like the curtains throughout your house, they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors – each one adding its own unique flair to the show. “Labia” is the latin word for lips. There are two parts to the labia - the majora and minora. You could probably guess that the majora are the bigger outer folds, or outer lips, and the minora sit right inside the labia majora. Many people’s labia minora extends past the labia majora. So, embrace your labia and give them a round of applause – they're easily ignored, but play a big role in your anatomy! They cover and protect the organs that are a bit more sensitive. They’re a good pal to give credit to!

The G-Spot

Last but not least, let's uncover the legendary treasure map known as the G-spot! Hidden and not seen with your mirror, this elusive spot is said to hold the key to mind-blowing orgasms and euphoric bliss. But hey, if you haven't found it yet, don't worry, now’s your time to explore and experiment, because the journey is half the fun! Some tips and tricks for finding your G-Spot: The G-Spot is  about 2 inches inside the front vaginal wall and can feel like little ridges. So, instead of focusing on just an in-and-out motion, find what feels good by keeping your attention on the internal areas. You can use the “come hither” motion with your fingers or toy by lifting upwards towards your belly button. You can also try some sex positions that have the right angle to stimulate the G-Spot like rider/cowgirl or doggy style. Find what works for you! Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all, so different people find different things that satisfy them. Try leaning into what feels good rather than “doing it right”. Alright, it’s adventure time!

To help you navigate your adventure, here're some illustrations:

Embrace the magic, celebrate the quirks. Remember, your body is a temple of wonder and delight. Embrace every curve, crease, and contour – they're all part of what makes you uniquely fabulous! And whenever you need a helping hand or a sprinkle of joy, remember that laughter is the best medicine.

Wishing you a pregnancy filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of love on your exploration!
