Allergies!
You want to know what’s worse than allergies? Allergies when you're pregnant!
Coming out of the winter season can be tough when you experience allergies, but we can’t let that stop us from visiting the blooms at the botanical garden, enjoying daffodils on our dinner table in a pitcher of water, or watching the bees float between flowers, full of nectar and pollen coating their wings. So what do we do about feeling so cruddy, but not be limited?
First, don’t worry - allergies still means you can have a safe and healthy pregnancy.
So, what can you do to survive and maybe even enjoy being outside when everything is blooming?
I’ve got ya - follow these tips!
Delegating cleaning tasks to someone else if you are allergic to dust
Changing clothes when you get home
Oral antihistamines like Claritin, Zyrtec, Benadryl after your first trimester
(anyone with a known history of difficulty producing enough breast milk,
may want to limit antihistamines because of the drying effect)
Not everyone will be happy to hear this, but exercise can reduce the swelling in your nose.
Apple Cider Vinegar (1-2 tbsp per day)
(can take as a shot, in juice, or mixed into virtually anything!)
Neti Pot (personal favorite)
Acupuncture can relieve some allergy symptoms for many people
1 tbsp of local honey each day
Garlic
Nettles Infusion (drink everyday)
Diffuser with peppermint, lemon and lavender essential oils
Hope you feel better with these tips!
